Most everyone Loves Slaw. It normally adorns BBQ as a great side. Our Basic recipe can be enjoyed as is, or it can be flavored with our Seasoning Rubs, just to change things up a bit.
You will need:
Green Cabbage 1/2 head of large or 1 small, sliced thin/shredded
2 -3 Cucumbers, sliced thin
1 Green Pepper, diced or sliced thin
2-3 Carrots, coarsely grated
1 Bermuda or Red Onion, sliced thin)
Dressing:
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/4 cup Canola Oil
4 t salt
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
3 pkgs. Splenda or other rapidly dissolving sugar or substitute
For an additional flavor Blast, add a few drops of Sesame Seed Oil to a bowlful
if desired.
Procedure:
Place all vegetables and fruits in a large bowl or a tall kitchen bag ( for ease of mixing)
Pour all the oil over the mixture and toss to mix. Combine the salt, vinegars, water and splenda in a small pot and bring up to a gentle boil, pour over all and mix well.
Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight then drain.
Use as is or add our Cajun, Floribbean or Southwestern to taste. Everyone can enjoy their favorite flavors.
Cheers!
